Programs
Montessori education is characterized by an emphasis on independence, freedom within limits, and respect for a child’s natural psychological, physical, and social development. It is a comprehensive educational approach from birth to adulthood based on Maria Montessori’s understanding of children’s natural learning tendencies. Our Montessori Classroom has:
- 2 Montessori trained teachers and child development experts guiding your child for up to a three year period
- Multi-age groups with peer teaching from 2.5 – 6 years old
- A carefully prepared environment complete with specialized educational materials used to introduce new learning concepts developed by Maria Montessori
- Children learn concepts from working with materials rather than by direct instruction
- Children are given freedom of movement and to choose an activity from within a prescribed range of options based on their unique interest and ability
- Uninterrupted blocks of work time. A work period which allows for repetition, concentration and a deeper understanding of concepts
When these elements are in place, young children are able to discover their own talents, gain self-confidence, make friendships, experience the joys of learning, and grow in a holistic manner.
